Laurence Thiry
French Language Support

With twelve years of experience working in the bilingual non-profit sector in Lennoxville—one of the few officially bilingual towns in Quebec—Laurence has spent much time and energy developing and adapting resources to bridge the French/English language barrier. During her two years as Executive Director of Options Pregnancy Centre Lennoxville, and several years of volunteering, she became aware of the desperate lack of material available for francophones. She has also come to appreciate deeply the importance of the language we use to address the sensitive social and personal issues surrounding pregnancy and abortion. This is why she is passionate about helping pregnancy organisations find the right words to reach french speaking clients. Laurence holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Religion with minors in Social Justice and Ancient Languages.
