Building Community Bridges for Unexpected Pregnancies

Building Community Bridges for Unexpected Pregnancies

Every year in Canada, thousands of women experience an unexpected pregnancy, and research suggests that one in three women have an abortion.

Does your church know how to respond?

The Building Community Bridges course will equip your church to provide practical, compassionate care and support.

The Building Community Bridges course will walk you step-by-step through the biblical, cultural, and personal realities of unexpected pregnancy and abortion.

The course is divided into short lessons, which include teaching videos, personal stories, and opportunities to “Reflect and Respond” in the course workbook. There are also downloadable resources and a suggested playlist for your reflection time. The course is self-paced and will be accessible for future reference.

UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE: Gain a clear, biblical, and practical understanding of unexpected pregnancy, the pressures women face, and the realities surrounding abortion in our culture.
KNOW HOW TO RESPOND: Learn how to offer compassionate, Christlike support for unexpected pregnancy and support after an abortion through effective communication, crisis awareness, and a woman-focused approach.
TAKE THE NEXT STEP: Apply what you’ve learned by exploring practical ways to strengthen your church’s response, including using the Community Assessment Tool to identify opportunities for support and growth.
